- ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪This company engaged an enginert/assessor by the name of Stephen James from Wolverhampton to examine a Volkswagen Touran which had deliberately reversed into my car in order to make a fraudulent claim. At the time of the incident I believed the Asian lady driver to have caused a genuine accident by putting the car into reverse and touching my car at about 3 MPH.As it was very minor damage to my bumper I said I would get a quote and advise her of the cost accordingly. But two days later I got a phone call from my insurer saying I had driven into this lady and she was making a claim agsinst me. The engineer/assessor namely Steven James who inspected her car made a report to say her car was in his opinion a write off due to scuffing of the rear bumper and a dent in the tailgate which was already there because it did not match where the two vehicles had impacted. The minor damage caused to the Volkswagen by it's fraudulent driver was costed at £3900 including courtesy car hire charges but could have been carried out for around £350 at most car body repairers. This vehicle damage assessor namely Steven James is definitely not fit for the job and is making car insurance premiums much higher than need be. It seems this industry is milking the insurance companies as much as possible and is dire need of a regulatory body to stop the amount of overcharging that appears to be going on. Even if the fraudulent driver of the Volkswagen is unsuccessful they get free use of an equivalent courtesy car until the claim is settled despite her car being perfectly driveable. The date of the collision was 29/7/17 and as of 15/11/17 is still ongoing. So J P MORRIS please engage qualified assessors because on this occasion you have truly been named and shamed.
